    Regulación emocional y recuperación física de los jóvenes deportistas en modalidades deportivas individual y colectiva

    Indexación: Scopus.Due to the influence of positive and negative affects experienced during competition on sports performance, emotional regulation is one of the psychological variables that are more interesting to the sport psychology field. In this sense, this study analyzes how the use of reappraisal and suppression stimulates or hampers the physical recovery of young athletes. All of this taking into account the mediating role of self-efficacy and cognitive anxiety experienced during competition. Three hundred Chilean athletes with ages from 11 to 18 years old participated in this study (M = 15.15; SD = 2.38). Specifically, 139 of them practiced individual sports (boating, athletics, swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, and tennis) and 161 collective sports (basketball, volleyball, soccer, and rugby). Results show that the use of cognitive reappraisal as a dispositional strategy is associated with positive affect. In addition, cognitive reappraisal promotes self-efficacy in athletes during competition and stimulates their physical recovery. Emotional suppression produces the opposite effect, being associated to negative affect and impairing physical recovery by cognitive anxiety. Results are also discussed related to differences observed in the use of these two emotional regulation strategies in individual and collective sports, along with their practice implications for the training of young athletes in both modalities. © 2018 Revista Internacional de Ciencias del Deporte. All rights reserved.La influencia que los estados emocionales tienen en los deportistas cuando compiten ha hecho que la regulación emocional sea una de las variables psicológicas más interesantes a estudiar en los últimos años en el ámbito deportivo. En este sentido, este estudio analiza cómo los usos de las dos estrategias de regulación más usadas de forma disposicional favorecen o disminuyen la recuperación física de los deportistas jóvenes después de la competición. Todo ello teniendo en cuenta el papel mediador que la autoeficacia y la ansiedad cognitiva tienen en esa relación. Para este estudio se contó con la participación de 300 deportistas chilenos de 11 a 18 años (M = 15,15; DT = 2,38). En concreto, 139 practicaban deportes individuales (canotaje, atletismo, natación, gimnasia rítmica y tenis) y 161 deportes colectivos (básquetbol, voleibol, fútbol y rugby). Los resultados del estudio muestran que el uso de la reevaluación cognitiva como estrategia disposicional favorece la autoeficacia de los deportistas en competición y mejora la recuperación física. La supresión emocional, en cambio, se muestra como una estrategia desadaptativa que favorece la ansiedad cognitiva en competición y dificulta la recuperación física.     Desarrollo y validación de la escala de relajación-mindfulness para adolescentes (EREMIND-A)

    Indexación: Scopus.Background: The aim of this investigation was to validate the Relaxation- Mindfulness Scale for Adolescents (EREMIND-A), consisting of 18 items and three factors (Attention-Concentration in the present moment; Relaxation (abilities and attitudes); and Sensory awareness/Contemplation/ Interiority). Method: The validation was done with a sample of Secondary Education and Baccalaureate students from four different centres in Spain (n = 1.120). EFA and CFA of the EREMIND-A were performed and construct and incremental validities calculated. Results: Initial results confi rm the validity and reliability of the scale. Conclusions: There is a need for a broader conceptualization of mindfulness, as well as the inclusion and analysis of other related and cross-cutting concepts. The research in this sense will propitiate the adaptation of the Mindfulness- Based Interventions to the reality of the adolescents in the educational centers, where relaxation and the interiority are aspects to be taken into consideration. © 2018 Psicothema.Antecedentes: el objetivo de esta investigación fue validar la Escala de relajación-Mindfulness para Adolescentes (EREMIND-A), que contiene 18 ítems y tres factores (Atención-Concentración en el momento presente; Relajación (habilidades y actitudes); Consciencia Sensorial/Contemplación/Interioridad. Resultados: los resultados iniciales confirman la fiabilidad y validez de la escala.     Adolescent Bullying Victimization and Life Satisfaction: Can Family and School Adult Support Figures Mitigate this Effect?

    Indexación: Scopus.Existen pocos estudios que vinculen la victimización sufrida por bullying con la satisfacción con la vida. Por ello, este estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar el efecto mitigador del apoyo de figuras adultas (padres, madres y adultos de la escuela) sobre la relación de la victimización por bullying y la satisfacción con la vida en adolescentes. Con este fin, se evalúa una muestra de 5774 adolescentes provenientes de 71 escuelas públicas ubicadas en barrios violentos de Lima, Perú. Para ello, se realiza un análisis de moderación para evaluar el rol de las figuras adultas de apoyo en la casa y la escuela. Los resultados muestran que el apoyo de los adultos en casa mitiga la relación negativa entre la victimización y la satisfacción con la vida. Este efecto es mayor en el caso del apoyo adulto en la casa. El apoyo brindado por los adultos, tanto en la casa como en la escuela, favorece que los adolescentes que padecen de una alta prevalencia de victimización puedan mantener niveles superiores de satisfacción con la vida respecto a los adolescentes que perciben bajo apoyo de los adultos. Finalmente, se discute la necesidad de que adultos en la escuela y padres realicen acciones coordinadas para prevenir y disminuir la prevalencia de este tipo de violencia entre compañeros/as.There are still few studies relating bullying victimization and life satisfaction. This study aimed to assess the mitigating effect of adult figures support (at school and home) on the relationship between bullying victimization and life satisfaction experienced by adolescents. To this end, a sample of 5774 adolescents from 71 public schools located throughout the violent neighborhoods of Lima (Perú) was evaluated. A moderation analysis was performed to assess the moderating role of support adult figures from home and school. The results show that the support of adults at home and school mitigate the negative effect of bullying victimization on life satisfaction, and this effect is larger in the case of adult home support. Adult support at home and school help students with high prevalence of bullying victimization maintain high levels of life satisfaction compared to adolescents with low support from adults.     Adapting integrity checking techniques for concurrent operation executions

    One challenge for achieving executable models is preserving the integrity of the data. That is, given a structural model describing the constraints that the data should satisfy, and a behavioral model describing the operations that might change the data, the integrity checking problem consists in ensuring that, after executing the modeled operations, none of the specified constraints is violated. A multitude of techniques have been presented so far to solve the integrity checking problem. However, to the best of our knowledge, all of them assume that operations are not executed concurrently. As we are going to see, concurrent operation executions might lead to violations not detected by these techniques. In this paper, we present a technique for detecting and serializing those operations that can cause a constraint violation when executed concurrently , so that, previous incremental techniques, exploiting our approach, can be safely applied in systems with concurrent operation executions guaranteeing the integrity of the data.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft

    Gratitude as a Protective Factor for Cyberbullying Victims: Conditional Effects on School and Life Satisfaction

    Indexación ScopusRecently, studies linking the emotion of dispositional gratitude to cyberbullying have attracted attention. However, this is still a seminal research area that requires further scientific studies. Through longitudinal data, this study aims to analyze the mitigating effect of gratitude on cybervictimization and two indicators of adolescent subjective well-being, namely school and life satisfaction. To this end, 221 adolescents attending private schools in Peru (age: mean (M) = 12.09; standard deviation (SD) = 0.89) were selected to respond to a self-administered questionnaire in two waves that were six months apart. Descriptive data show that 27% of cybervictims also suffer other types of traditional bullying. The overlaps between forms of bullying contribute to higher probabilities of experiencing low school and life satisfaction compared to non-victims after six months. The results of the moderation analysis show that experience high gratitude help students to maintain stable levels of life satisfaction regardless of the prevalence of cyberbullying after six months The results are discussed in terms of the relevance of fostering gratitude from early ages.https://www.mdpi.com/1660-4601/18/5/266

    A captorhinid-dominated assemblage from the palaeoequatorial Permian of Menorca (Balearic Islands, western Mediterranean)

    Altres ajuts: CERCA Programme/Generalitat de CatalunyaMoradisaurine captorhinid eureptiles were a successful group of high-fibre herbivores that lived in the arid low latitudes of Pangaea during the Permian. Here we describe a palaeoassemblage from the Permian of Menorca (Balearic Islands, western Mediterranean), consisting of ichnites of small captorhinomorph eureptiles, probably moradisaurines (Hyloidichnus), and parareptiles (cf. Erpetopus), and bones of two different taxa of moradisaurines. The smallest of the two is not diagnostic beyond Moradisaurinae incertae sedis. The largest one, on the other hand, shows characters that are not present in any other known species of moradisaurine (densely ornamented maxillar teeth), and it is therefore described as Balearosaurus bombardensis gen. et sp. nov. Other remains found in the same outcrop are identified as cf. Balearosaurus bombardensis gen. et sp. nov., as they could also belong to the newly described taxon. This species is sister to the moradisaurine from the lower Permian of the neighbouring island of Mallorca, and is also closely related to the North American genus Rothianiscus. This makes it possible to suggest the hypothesis that the Variscan mountains, which separated North America from southern Europe during the Permian, were not a very important palaeobiogeographical barrier to the dispersion of moradisaurines. In fact, mapping all moradisaurine occurrences known so far, it is shown that their distribution area encompassed both sides of the Variscan mountains, essentially being restricted to the arid belt of palaeoequatorial Pangaea, where they probably outcompeted other herbivorous clades until they died out in the late Permian

    Multiscale analysis of damage using dual and primal domain decomposition techniques

    In this contribution, dual and primal domain decomposition techniques are studied for the multiscale analysis of failure in quasi-brittle materials. The multiscale strategy essentially consists in decomposing the structure into a number of nonoverlapping domains and considering a refined spatial resolution where needed. In multiscale analysis of damage, the spatial refinement is performed where damage nucleation and propagation take place. The domain decomposition approach turns to be a computationally cheaper alternative to the direct numerical solution in which a fine scale model is considered throughout the complete sample. Dual and primal domain decomposition techniques are appropriate for such concurrent multiscale analyses and provide identical results. Parallel scalability of the multiscale analysis is studied using a moderate number of processors and a parallel direct solver for the system obtained through the assembly of all domains.Postprint (published version

    Desarrollo y validación del cuestionario de autoconfianza en competición CACD para deportes individuales y colectivos

    El objetivo de este estudio fue construir y validar un cuestionario de autoconfianza en competición deportiva en Chile. Este fue administrado a una muestra de 307 deportistas de deportes individuales y colectivos en competición regular con edades que oscilaban entre los 11 y 35 años. Los análisis factoriales exploratorio y confirmatorio apoyan una estructuraunidimensional de autoconfianza en situación deportiva. La consistencia interna es adecuada y además las puntuaciones muestran correlaciones positivas y significativas con la dimensión de autoconfianza del CSAI II y con una medida de autoeficacia general de Schwarzer y Baessler (1996) que al utilizarse con deportistas también mostró valores adecuados
